Update- Are we crazy or what....

We had such a nice time in Disneyland last January that we decided why not let's go again...... Does that make us crazy??? ABSOLUTELY! We went with some of my family. The boys hit the BYU game in Vegas and California. We went to Disneyland, the beach, Universal Studios, Sea World and San Diego Zoo.

At Hunington Beach with all the family, ocean was a little cold, but it didn't stop them from going in.
Disneyland!!! Caitlin was Brody's buddy at Disneyland, he wanted to sit by her and be around her the whole time. We did have a scare this year though, while Allen and I were riding Alice in Wonderland, Brody and Colby were with my brother and sister-in-law, plus they had their 3 kids. When we got off of the ride, Jason came up to us and said, "Brody is lost" we didn't believe him at first, but quickly realized he wasn't kidding. I imediately sent Allen one way and I went the other looking for him. As I am walking through fantasyland calling his name, I of course think of all the horrible things that could of happened. I turn back to be sure I get all my brothers to check the bathrooms and head towards one to check it out. As I am looking into the bushes, and water by the castle, I get a text from Allen that he found him. I am so PROUD of my little boy. When we went on vacation last January we told our boys if they got lost to sit down off to the side, to not wonder, but just sit down and then we explained who to talk to when they are lost. Brody said he thought he saw my brother leave the store and followed him, I'm not sure when he realized he was following the wrong person, but he was had wondered from the Mad Hatter store towards the castle. During that time a Disney worker noticed that he was wondering alone. Their policy is to follow the child for awhile to make sure a parent isn't keeping an eye on him from a far and give the parent a chance to find him. She said she followed him through the castle where he went straight to the bench and sat down. She then asked him his name and sat there with him. I asked him why he sat down and he remembered what we had told him. He was so brave and didn't cry until Allen found him. He remembers getting lost and making his Aunt Cindy cry and making his mom and dad sad. I would have to say having a child lost is one very scary experience. After that I think everyone slowed down a bit and we were able to enjoy the rest of our disneyland experience. Our goal this trip was for Colby to like the "big" rides and we achieved that! We knew with him being able to go on these rides with his cousin Jordan and Uncles he would realize what fun they were. He even went on Indiana Jones again and had fun. The boys favorite ride had to of been Star Tours, then went on that a ton of times. I of course being pregnant was stuck on the sidelines watching, but when it comes to Star Tours, I'm quite okay with that!
This is one of my favorite pictures, Goofy and Colby both as skeletons, how cool is that?
We again did breakfast with Minnie, that is one of our favorite things to do and it was so rainy that it added a nice break from outside. Plus the kids get to see so many characters, their favorite seems to be
Captain Hook and Chip and Dale, this time it was a little bit busier than last, plus we did breakfast earlier and so they characters didn't spend as much time goofing off, something to remember next time.
This is at Universal Studios, we didn't get to everything we wanted to here, but I'm sure the kids didn't notice just us Adults.... My favorite event was there was a crepe store right outside the park where I got a yummy crepe, hmmm yes it is all about the food at 6 months pregnant.

Brody's favorite places were not Disneyland or Universal Studios, but Sea World and San Diego Zoo, of course, he LOVES animals, I'm not sure if this is THE killer whale, hopefully not, but it was a great show and I was a little grateful that my boys weren't at the show the whale went crazy, because Brody loved it and I would hate for him to be scarred for life.
All in all it was a hectic tiring trip and I paid for it MAJOR after with Bronchitis and Brody ended up getting Swine Flu, so much for being the hand sanitizer nazi, it did no good, thank you for all you that helped take care of our sick household after this trip!!

Memorial Weekend

Great trip down in Torrey, so Allen could go turkey hunting, rained Saturday morning so he never got out hunting, but we had a great time hiking the canyons, then driving down a different road and enjoying the mountains! The boys probably loved swimming the most at the indoor pool!

Hanging with Cousins

There was the really cool "pioneer registry" we were able to see their names they carved in when they came through. Unfortuantly some disrespectful rude people have felt the need to carve their names in also which ruins it, but still cool to see

We also saw the Fremont Indian Polygraphs (spelled right?) Which was really cool to look at, unfortuantly I didn't get a picture of it.
Great trip lots of fun and I didn't have a total panic attack hiking in some of the narrower areas.

VACATION, YEAH!!!

Since Colby is on year around school and he is off the month of January we wanted to do something to fill the month. Especially since January is the sloooowest month of the year for me. Initially we were going to go to Arizona and visit friends and family, but our son Brody is a Mickey fanatic, and we figured since he is free till he turns three, lets take advantage and go to Disneyland!! We were going to fly, but decided with all the luggage and with where our dates hit on coming and going we preferred to drive....

Key's to driving with two boys for 6 hours at a time
1- DVD Player
2-LOTS of DVD's
3- Headphones to watch the DVD's so you don't have to hear the movie the whole time
4-Books on Tape, for you while the boys have their headphones on and for the kids when they don't
5- Limit the amount of movies, watch a movie, color or read a book etc..(but bring seperate bags for each kid)
6- Crackers (so no junk food tummy aches)and water bottles to limit stops
7- Boys, so that when they have to go pee really quick you can actually just pull over
The drive wasn't a problem, but Thurs night before we left Brody woke up all sick, so knowing how he gets we immediately took him to the doctor and got prescriptions on an inhaler and on the Nebulizer medicine. We headed out Friday at 4:30 (the plan was three and make it to Cedar City and find a hotel) By the time we hit Payson, Brody was really wheezing, we didn't have an actual nebulizer because the Walgreens and Walmart in SLC didn't have any and all the Medical Supply places were closed. We saw a Rite Aid off the freeway and decided to try them. Nebulizers usually run around 100 to 150.00. When we asked the Rite Aid they told us they did not, but the Payson Market had one. Which luckly was still opened. We went over there and not only did they have one, but it was a race car style (Brody thought that was cool) and it was only 40.00 bucks!!! Wow that was awesome. We gave Brody his inhaler and headed off again, went to Fillmore and got a great hotel where we were able to help Brody out and the boys were able to go swimming in the pool. Not the best start, but not to bad either!!

The next morning we headed off to Circus, Circus, (f you stay there stay in the new remodeled West Tower, nice rooms) where the boys enjoyed all the games!

After that we got went to a Resort Hotel next to Legoland, great rooms (as I am very picky about the rooms) and awesome views of the sun setting over the ocean.

The next morning (Monday) we were going to Legoland, so we let the boys swim for alittle bit then put them down to sleep.

My brother told us we could do Legoland for half a day, so we meandered and were slow for the first half, but then we realized if we didn't pick it up we wouldn't even make it to half the park! We did get to almost everything!
I concentrated so hard on my boys I kinda forgot about Batman (and his face)

Brody being "sad" and tired because he couldn't find Colby (in the bathroom)

Colby's favorite ride, he got to drive these cars without a track and he was sooo cautious about stopping at the stop signs and green lights, it was great!

Brody's favorite ride, he yelled giddie up, the WHOLE time:)

Legoland was great, and not crowded even though it was a somewhat holiday (Martin Luther King Day, or Humans Rights, not sure what Cali calls it)

The next day was our day to get to Anneheim and relax before Disneyland. We ate breakfast at a Danish place where we had some great pasteries, then we decided to go to the beach, we knew it would be too cold to get into the water, (no one told all those surfers that though) but thought the boys might enjoy seeing it. Brody wouldn't get too close to the water, but Colby went with Allen down and walked along the shore. I saw a couple Dolphins so I thought that was pretty cool. Allen and I decided we want to retire in Carlsband, CA!

They also enjoyed burying themselves in the sand

I was hoping I would have more time to update this during the superbowl, but now I do need to get back to work, so I'll finish another day. (hopefully sooner than later!)

Fathers Day/Allens B-day Weekend

We had a great vacation in St. George over Fathers Day weekend. We headed down Thursday night and stayed till Sunday. We enjoyed good food and fun things. My parents and brother and sister and fams all went down Friday and joined us. We discovered "Fiesta Fun" and played on the go carts,

Where I again discovered I am not a speed demon and got passed not once but TWICE by my brother who had my son in the car. We went on these boat things that not just got us a little wet but VERY wet. I thought I could drive around and not get my son wet who hates water. Not so much we quickly pulled over and he got out as you can see he was trying to already.

miniture golf and games inside!!!

Then I played a mean game of air hockey, yes I of course won Kristen both times:) and barely lost against Allen :(

We enjoyed swimming and shopping at the outlets also!! Then the reason why we go each year is to visit the shows at Tuacahn. We saw Les Miserable this year

Boys at Tuachan. Great show, kids were great.
We finished off our trip and enjoyed a great Fathers Day/Allens Birthday Breakfast and headed back on the road. We want to thank Allen for being such an AWESOME Father and Hubby! He is great and does so much for us. Ohhh... and Travis you owe us an ice cream cake.... ha ha
