First Day of Preschool

Brody was SOOOO excited to go to his new preschool. After making a horrible choice in his preschool last year (think glorified daycare) we chose to put him in the same pre-K school as Colby went. They opened one near us and we were extremely excited as they have a very good teaching plans etc..... We let Brody go to the school to look around last Spring and had him very pumpled up about it. Here he is on his way.
He is getting so big and is so fun to have around the home. I am excited that he finally seems very interested in learning. I think he learned more in the first two days at this school then we did for the past year in the previous one. We LOVE Sunshine Square and they have a bunch of campuses!!!

Haircut time:(

So my sweet Brody has the coolest hair in the world, I just LOVE his shag, but unfortunately during the summer, the shag isn't so cool, it gets sweaty and sticky and gross. After much delay I agreed he needed a summer haircut knowing that it will grow back..... We are so lucky to have such talented family!! We have my amazing sister-in-law that always has her camera there to take pictures (see Porter's Blessing day) and we have my other sister-in-law that is willing to cut the boys hair. So here it is, yes I was quite sad to see the beautiful blonde locks go...

Before the cut
During

After,

WOW he looks like a different boy!!! I have to keep looking at him I hardly recognize my own son!!!

He loves the fact he can have a mowhawk etc...

Brody First Day of School

Brody is starting a pre-preschool, He will be going a couple days a week for two hours. I am excited for him to go and get some friends. Brody is a very social guy, except he is very comfortable with his brother and it will be good for him to be around other kids his age. He is nervous, the day we took him to meet the teacher he wouldn't leave me. Here is his picture ready to leave...

He wouldn't let us get a picture without Colby.
Brody is such a stud. When he got there he was sooo nervous, he wouldn't let me leave. I was the only mom left there and everytime I tried to go he would run and grab me crying. Finally I convinced him that I would stand in the doorway until he was comfortable, but ONLY if he would go participate with the rest of the kids. That worked and once the teacher started storytime, he looked up and said, "Bye Mom" I'm so proud of my little one for being so brave!

April Showers brings... Soccer

So Brody begged me to let him play soccer this year, he was so excited when I found a league that he was old enough to play (barely by two weeks) He met his coach a week ago and HATED IT, they were suppose to do a team of 3 and 4 year old and 5 &6, but they didn't have enough sign up so they combined 3, 4 and 5 and his luck is he is on a team with a lot of 5 year olds. I couldn't get him to go to practice or anything and was planning on taking him out after this first game. He said his teammates didn't like him and was very intimidated. When Brody visited Grandpa and Grandma J this week he invited them to come see him play and that is where I discovered the secret.... BRODY LOVES ATTENTION. It started raining right before his game (and finished right after, talk about luck) but Brody ran out on the field and had a grin the whole time. He even ran in the right direction a couple times, but he was so busy checking every few minutes that we were all watching he missed the soccer ball going right by him a few times. (He even chewed Colby out for leaving and playing for a while) After the game he was sure to mention that he wanted Grandpa and Grandma there next week then he goes and Lexi's Dad ...... actually Travis and Lexi we started laughing so he didn't get to finish the list. As long as he has fun the whole point is getting him around other kids and playing so we will keep him in.
Getting all excited to go play (from the camera phone so blury)

Wow

Brody is very ANTI potty training right now, everything I try he basically ignores me (Except the shooting cheerios in the toilet, then he got mad and told me that you EAT those not put them in the toilet). So I decided I would just bring it up here and there but back off so the other day I was changing again a Stinky diaper and as I was changing it I decided to ask him, "Why he didn't use the potty" to my SHOCK he goes, "Well if you stopped hasslin me" WHAT, so I was so shocked I had to say, "what did you say" and he repeated it!! I couldn't stop laughing after I told him okay we would try it his way. BUT if my son is old enough to know the word hasslin and ability to use it in a correct sentence I think he is old enough to change his own diapers. (I wish) Anyways any suggestions would be great??? Brody is very stubborn and so I know he needs to have choices and things need to be his idea, sooo I guess we will wait and hope he decides before preschool starts:)

Happy Birthday Brody

Okay so we all know that Brody's birthday was last March, but I did want to get these pictures posted and I've had quite a few friends give me grief about how slow I am at updating my blog, so I guess this wouldn't really be updating it, since this was last March, but oh well. Brody did have a great birthday
We did an Elmo cake

Brody loved decorating it

Or eating the decor:) This kid sure has a sweet tooth.

And again

Brody again hurt this exact area of his eye. He has a scar now that doesn't look like it is going away. Boys will be Boys

Dip anyone

Brody Loves Dip, we gave him a Banana and he started dipping it in his ranch, gross, but he did love it!

Brody and his "new" shoes

Brody found some of Colby's old shoes and brought them to me to put them on. He loves them, they are a bit big, but they light up and he loves stomping around in them.
