Brody and his "new" shoes

Brody found some of Colby's old shoes and brought them to me to put them on. He loves them, they are a bit big, but they light up and he loves stomping around in them.

Child Services

So if Child Services come knocking on my door I shouldn't be surpised. Anyone who has been around Colby for a couple of years knows he is accident prone, especially around concrete and his forehead. The problem is these accidents only happen a couple times of the year. When is that you might ask? That would be picture time! So if you notice the boys on take 1 of together pictures Colby's forehead is all scratched up. Brody's eye was slightly swollen (not a lot) do to him running in a chair. Yes I had the thought of pictures in my head so yes they got hurt. So you might think I'm crazy, but I can pull up Colbys one year etc.. and you'll notice he wears a beanie on his head a lot. That is to hide the newest addition to his forehead. So this past month is again a picture month. Not for Colby though, for Brody. I wasn't worried after all why would he follow in his brothers footsteps. His 3 month, 6 month pictures went without a problem and the 9 month wasn't a huge sore. We go in to get pictures taken, they have a two 1/2 hour wait time, we set the appointment. While waiting, friends of ours called and asked if we wanted to do dinner. We decided we had time and went to their house to pick them up. I had to pull some stuff off the computer for work real quick so I left Brody to Allens care while I did that (Yes I am putting all blame on Allen) Well Brody not only proved to me that I am abusing my kids by even having the thought of pictures in my head, but he showed me he could one up Colby (or so we thought) While Allen was looking at pictures of a Jeep, Brody wandered over to our friends stairs and literally walked straight off of them. I came and saw him doing somersaults the last 1/2 of the stairs. He only cried for a little bit and just seemed scared so I did start checking his face for any obvious marks. Here is one of the pictures we took (Yes we still went, I wanted to get a picture of his fangs before the middle teeth grew in) He didn't cooperate for a fangs pictures, but oh well, I at least got him in for his one years.

So we kept him turned so you couldn't see the side of his face that was banged up, it worked okay! So Colby was jealous that Brody got his pictures taken, so I told him we would run to Walmart and let him have some taken. I even asked him what he wanted to wear. But that was at least 3 days BEFORE what happened next.

This is 4 days after it happened, so thank goodness it has cleared up quite a bit, but he scraped from the top of the forehead clear down to a fat lip. So what do I do? Quit taking or even thinking about taking my kids to get pictures?

Homework

Colby had a homework assignment from school where he needed to bring a worm to school (any kind) We'll the night before he didn't find one, so this is how our morning went.

Yes that is Allen digging in our yard trying to find a worm, so where is Colby??

Yes that is Colby still eating his breakfast

Allen still is digging.... So finally when it was time to go Allen came in with no worm. Thank goodness mom had a backup plan and bought gummy worms just in case. Initially the whole problem with this scenario is we are already doing our kids homework and he's barely 4. But after Allen came back in it dawned on me that, "could he really see a worm in the dirt with his color blindness?" When I asked him he said he was looking for movement. Ha, I laughed at him and said it probably wasn't the brightess idea of mine to send my color blind husband to find a worm!

Being Fired

When Allen and I first got married if Allen didn't agree with how I did stuff (aka iron etc..) he would say I was fired. I kept telling him that under my definition of being fired that 'ment I didn't have to do it anymore. He quickly learned it wasn't a good idea to complain! Well to my surprise the other day I was driving home when Colby belted out, "Mom your fired" Me and Allen started to laugh very hard (which of course is what he wanted) I never realized what I was being fired for, but I did realize that maybe Allen didn't quit saying that phrase after all, I just became use to it. Now of course we gave Colby the reaction he wanted so I'm sure I'll be fired all the time.

Past Favorites of Colby

Awww, 3 days old

Colby went to vist Grandma Joe at work to show off his Batman costume. He was so excited to find out that not only was her department decorated as the "bat cave" but also Grandma was Catwoman

Look at our big 3 year old

A 4 year olds perspective of my life. . .

Colby was driving home with mommy after playing "house" with his cousin Caitlin, below is the conversation we had.
"Your not my mom" Said Colby
"I'm Not?" I asked, "Who is?"
"No one" Colby replied
"Oh really? Then who is going to tuck you in at night?" I asked
"No one" Colby said
"Okay, then who is going to give you hugs and kisses?" I tried
"No one'
After going on and on like this I thought I would get him, "okay then who is going to give you chocolate milk?"
Well he got me, "I will get my own" he replied.
"Okay I give up then, Who am I then??"
"Your Heather"
"Okay and what do I do then?" I asked
"You clean the kitchen" He replied so causally.

Life of a Working Mom

I needed to make a "quick" business phone call. I asked Colby to watch Brody for me and try to keep him quite while I made it in my room. This was the outcome after 2+ pieces of chocolate candies. When I tried to remove a wrapper from Brody's mouth that Colby didn't remove all of the way, Brody threw a fit. Colby was SO mad at me and kept telling me to give it back.
